Drekoty nagrywają debiutancki longplay

Dokładnie rok po publikacji EPki Trafostacja Drekoty wchodzą do studia, by zarejestrować materiał na swój debiutancki album. Zespół, w skład którego wchodzi Ola Rzepka, Magda Turłaj oraz Zosz Chabiera, ostatnie miesiące może zaliczyć do udanych. Na koncie ma bowiem jedną z nagród głównych na Festiwalu Gramy 2011, obecność na kilku składankach muzycznych (Offensywa 4, WAFP8, Exterritory 2 oraz planowana na wiosnę Sealesia 2), kilkanaście pozytywnych recenzji w prasie i mediach internetowych oraz szereg bardzo dobrze przyjętych koncertów.

Muzyka Drekotów to muzyka sprzeczności. Akustyczne brzmienie perkusji zderza się z elektronicznymi dźwiękami klawiszy uzupełnianymi przez trzy wokale, natomiast pozornie proste i chwytliwe melodie płynnie łączą się z mniej przystępną warstwą muzyczną.  Także teksty, pisane w języku polskim, upchane są licznymi metaforami i wieloznacznościami. Zespół przygotował 14 kompozycji, z których dużą część można było usłyszeć na koncertach. Pomimo tego, że podstawowy zakres instrumentów znany z występów na żywo pozostanie bez zmian, na płycie można spodziewać się nowych aranżacji oraz brzmień.

Za realizację i produkcję nagrań odpowiedzialny będzie Kuba Łuka, znany m.in. ze współpracy z zespołami MorF czy Pasimito, a ostatecznym masteringiem zajmie się Marcin Bors. Poszukiwania wydawcy w toku.

Pomimo sesji nagraniowej zespół nie przestaje koncertować. W najbliższym czasie będziemy mieli okazję zobaczyć i posłuchać Drekotów na żywo w Gdańsku (21.03) podczas Festiwalu Europejski Poeta Wolności oraz w Chorzowie (11.04) w ramach organizowanego przez Marcina Babko cyklu Inne Granie w Chck.

Drekoty to zespół założony przez Olę Rzepkę, perkusistkę i pianistkę grającą w takich zespołach jak Wovoka, Graal, The Complainer, a dawniej znaną ze współpracy z Pogodno oraz Budyń i Sprawcy Rzepaku. W składzie zespołu obok Oli Rzepki znalazła się Magda Turłaj (vel Karotka znana z Kawałka Kulki) i Zosz Chabiera. Drekoty mają na koncie EPkę Trafostacja wydaną w Internecie. Zespół koncertował m.in. z Pustkami, Julią Marcell, Paristetris oraz amerykańskim zespołem Evangelista.
